How to enroll

We know you may be eager to get started, but please do not create an account directly on our website. Signing up on our website will require you to pay for Bend Health services directly, and will make it more difficult for us to connect with your pediatrician or primary care provider.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my insurance cover Bend Health?
Good news! Under Collaborative Care (see more below), your PCP will be the one billing you for any amount due using the same insurance you already use with your PCP.
What is Collaborative Care?
Collaborative Care is an evidence-based, whole-person approach to care that is more clinically effective at improving mental health symptoms when compared to mental health care services alone. It is a partnership between your primary care provider (PCP), a behavioral care manager, and a behavioral health team that includes a psychiatric provider (psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner).
At Bend Health, we operate under an “enhanced collaborative care” model, where primary care and psychiatric care are also supported by behavioral health coaching and therapy (if indicated).
Through collaborative care, primary care providers enroll families with Bend Health. Services from Bend Health are billed through your PCP using collaborative care billing codes. Under Collaborative Care, your PCP will be the one billing you for any amount due using the same insurance you already use with your PCP.
If you would like to understand your co-pays or cost-sharing, please contact your insurance company directly. Below are the codes that may be billed under collaborative care:

How does Bend collaborate with my pediatrician / primary care provider?
Bend Health practitioners share regular updates with your pediatrician or primary care provider (PCP). In fact, if you or your child needs medication, your PCP will be the one to prescribe it. Your Bend behavioral care manager coordinates all updates across the care team (at Bend and your PCP's office) to ensure the entire team is connected to your care.
How do I sign up for Bend Health?
You must be enrolled by your pediatric or primary care provider to receive care from Bend in collaboration with your primary care team. Simply let your pediatric team know that you would like to be enrolled, and they will send your information to us.
Once your referral has been submitted, you will automatically receive an invitation email from Bend Health. Then just click the link to get started!
How do I access Bend Health?
Bend Health’s app functions within the browser or on your smartphone. There is no need to download anything. Just tell us a little about you or your child/teen's history and get started. Once care begins, your Bend care team will communicate directly with you about progress.
Who is on the Bend care team?
Bend Health has multiple practitioners who are brought together as a care team based on the needs of the member and family and may include behavioral care managers, coaches, therapists, nurses, and/or psychiatric providers. Each practitioner on the team has a specific role:
Behavioral care managers are the care team quarterback. They are your main contact and help get your questions answered. And if they don’t have the answer, they will get it from the appropriate person on the care team. Behavioral care managers also provide updates on treatment plans, make sure care is progressing as expected, and they help coordinate with primary care physicians and pediatricians as appropriate. They will also help work with a school if needed to help support a member.
Mental health coaches practice evidence-based techniques that help members understand and implement powerful techniques to better manage life. For members with low-to-moderate symptoms, our coaches are trained professionals helping members gain a better understanding of themselves, others in their lives, and the world around them. Bend Health coaches are not therapists, but are supervised by licensed practitioners.
Therapists are independently licensed master’s level therapists who deliver evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Motivational Enhancement (ME), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Parent Management Training (PMT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Executive Functioning Training and other therapies to help children/teens/young adults and families who have mild-to-severe conditions. They work closely with Bend Health coaches and behavioral care managers and help emphasize utilization of the skills taught by our coaches.
Psychiatric providers are psychiatrists or nurse practitioners who evaluate members with more severe conditions. They diagnose and prescribe medications if necessary, or eliminate medications that are not helping. Our psychiatric providers work in collaboration with Bend Health therapists and coaches so that your entire team is all working together to help your child/teen/young adult feel better, faster. Psychiatric providers also work in collaboration with pediatricians and primary care physicians to support whole body care to achieve the best possible outcome.
Can I still use Bend if I have a therapist?
Yes! If you're already working with an outside therapist, you can still enroll with Bend Health. In this case, your Bend care team will include a behavioral care manager, coach, and psychiatric provider. In fact, your Bend behavioral care manager will connect your entire team, making sure the care you receive from Bend, your pediatrician, and your outside therapist are integrated and coordinated.
