Take it from Bend Marketing Manager and mom of a one-year-old, Chelsea Derr, you don’t need an interior designer or beachfront property to make your very own oasis.

Great stuff, huh? Now you can try these simple steps to create a more peaceful home today - no matter the age of your kids:

  1. Declutter one small space. Doing a full spring-cleaning on your home probably isn’t realistic, so start by tackling your child’s toy box or encouraging your teen to organize their desk drawers.
  2. Set up a cozy corner. Designate a small nook or a comfy chair in your home that can be used by anyone in the family to do relaxing activities like reading, journaling, or meditating. Make sure you choose a quiet(ish) place and add a candle or comforting blanket to make it even more inviting.
  3. Bring nature in. Doing small things like opening the blinds to let the natural light in, putting ambient sounds on like ocean waves, or adding a plant to your space can be a real mood lifter for everyone.
