Bend Coaches help athletes manage the stress and visibility that comes with competing at the highest level of youth sports. They are certified or master’s trained professionals who work with kids, teens, and their families to build skills that support mental wellbeing and resilience.

When should my athlete speak with a Bend Coach?

Bend Coaches are available as a resource to support your athlete during the tournament. If they’re feeling stressed, homesick, managing new interpersonal dynamics, or find themselves unexpectedly the center of attention, Bend Coaches will help them with skills to manage the highs and lows of the tournament.

What will my athlete get out of a session with a Bend Coach?

Your athlete will walk away with concrete skills they can use right away to improve mental performance, manage their emotions, or stay grounded. They’ll also work with their coach on an actionable plan to address their issue or concern. 

Parents and caregivers will also benefit by learning the skills they can help their child practice and may gain a new understanding of ways to support their athlete.

Will I have to pay for the session?

Sessions are available at no cost to Little League athletes competing in the Regional and World Series tournaments.

How do I book a session?

Once the tournaments begin, you'll be able to register and book a session for your athlete here.

Can I have more than one session with a Bend Coach?

Sessions with Bend Coaches are available during the tournaments courtesy of Little League. You may book more than one session as long as your child’s tournament is ongoing. If you would like to continue with coaching beyond the tournament, check out ways to get care directly from Bend.

Can I follow-up with the Bend Coach after the tournament?

Bend offers coaching programs for kids and teens, including a Champions of the Mind program for young athletes. Check out ways to get care from Bend directly.

How do I log into a session with a Bend Coach?

Bend Coaching sessions take place via Zoom. Once you’ve registered and booked a session, you will receive an email confirmation with a calendar invite. The email and calendar invite will have the Zoom meeting link.

Can the parent or caregiver attend the session with the athlete?

Absolutely! Athletes ages 12 and under should have their parent or caregiver present for the entirety of the session. Athletes ages 13+ need to start the session with you present as well, but you may be able to step away as long as a caregiver remains nearby and accessible via phone.
